Celebrating 20 Years of trusted Leadership

Committed to Connecting Neighbors

20 Years of Building Inclusive Communities

In 2006, the vision of former First Lady of Indianapolis, Amy Minick Peterson, to create an organization that welcomes and serves all newcomers to Indianapolis came to fruition by the incorporation of Immigrant Welcome Center as a local nonprofit.

Since then, IWC has been a visionary leader committed to providing impactful service and meaningful advocacy for all immigrants. Each day, our diverse and highly trained staff, with support from our board members and volunteers, including Natural Helpers, work tirelessly to break down barriers and ensure equitable access to resources for every Hoosier, born here or not.

This year, as we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we are reminded more than ever, about the relevance of our responsive programming, and the need to amplify Hoosier immigrant voices and protect their rights. We endeavor to walk alongside our clients, partners, and the community members to ensure that our mission and vision become a reality every day.
