"The trainings provided by the Immigrant Welcome Center were well received by our attendees. Participants left the trainings with a deeper understanding of how to provide culturally sensitive peer support to multiple different immigrant communities."
Indiana Recovery Network
“The Immigrant Welcome Center training is a great way for those beginning their journey with cultural humility to familiarize themselves with related concepts. When surveyed, seven of twenty-four attendees at our full day professional development named this session as their favorite part of the day. They enjoyed “discussions about cultural humility and supporting families with different needs.”
Early Learning Indiana
“Bethany's Transitional Foster Care Program utilized the Immigrant Welcome Center for a training for our foster parents in May 2024 on Haitian Culture. Our program has been seeing an increase in referrals for youth who speak Haitian Creole. Both Bekah and Rochenide did an excellent job of providing our foster parents with an overview of Haitian culture and resources they can utilize within the Indianapolis community. I would definitely recommend the Immigrant Welcome Center to other area businesses and organizations who are looking to expand their knowledge of other cultures.”
Bethany Christian Services of Central Indiana
“IWC Cultural Lunch and Learns are a valuable opportunity to learn about nuances that impact our clients and colleagues. This knowledge paired with a reflection of our own identities better equips our team to celebrate and make room for cultural differences!”
