All information collected on this web site is used only by Immigrant Welcome Center (“IWC,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), the nonprofit organization that hosts this web site. IWC respects the privacy of visitors to our web site. We do not sell, give, or trade information with third parties. What Personal Information Do We Collect?

When you visit the public area of the web site, you remain anonymous. Immigrant Welcome Center collects the following personal information when a donor, volunteer/potential volunteer, community partner, event participant, or client voluntarily provides it to the organization:

  • Name, address, phone number, and e-mail address
  • Other personal information such as occupation, employer, and interests
  • Your request to receive periodic updates

Immigrant Welcome Center uses this information to respond to requests for contact, provide updates on events and accomplishments at our organization, mail donors receipts, and thank donors/participants for their support. We do not want to send unwanted mail or information about Immigrant Welcome Center. Do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you wish to be removed from our mailing list.

Immigrant Welcome Center also keeps a record of each donor’s giving history in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. This information is kept on file for IRS purposes and used by the Development department to analyze overall giving patterns to make more accurate budget projections.

As you browse this web site, Immigrant Welcome Center and its web hosting service may collect web statistics in order to monitor web site traffic patterns. We do not attempt to link web traffic patterns to personally identifiable information. We aggregate all non-personally identifiable data that it collects internally and together with its web site designer and host in order to improve the web site. The information is used, for example, to evaluate what portions of the web site are more popular than others, to determine from where visitors came to the web site, and to determine how many times particular pages of the web site were accessed in aggregate. We use the data to prepare reports regarding web site activity as part of the process of maintaining and improving the web site.

What Steps Do We Take to Protect Your Privacy?

We do not presently provide any personal information collected to other companies, firms, or individuals without the permission of those who provided the information.

Every employee at Immigrant Welcome Center has a personal password for their computer. Data collected is kept in a database that requires an additional user ID and password that is accessible only to appropriate personnel.

Immigrant Welcome Center relies on third party vendors, CRMs, and other software to collect and track online donations. This software has been secured by various encryption methods. Unless requested by the donor to process recurring donations, Immigrant Welcome Center does not store, nor does it have access to, your credit card information.

For all practical purposes, staff, interns, and/or contractors working for Immigrant Welcome Center will have access to the information you submit through web forms or email. However, it is also possible that our Internet Service Provider (ISP) as well as your own ISP may access the information you submit over the Internet to us, although it is generally not the practice of ISPs to do so. Finally, although highly unlikely, computer hackers may be able to gain access to information you submit when it’s transmitted through the Internet or sitting on your server or our server.

What about Children’s Privacy?

Immigrant Welcome Center does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from any children under age 18.

Is Data Storage and Processing Conducted in the United States?

Regardless of where you are located, the web site collects information and processes and stores that information in databases located in the United States.
