English + Community Conversation

Indiana Repertory Theatre

2-4 p.m.

Following the Indiana Repertory Theatre’s 2 p.m. performance of English, Immigrant Welcome Center will join ESL teachers, recent immigrants, and language justice advocates to unpack the complicated relationships with language and what it means to speak and be heard on one’s own terms.

A ticket to the performance is required to attend the Community Conversation.

Legal assistance events are core to Immigrant Welcome Center's push to make sure our neighbors have access to the legal resources they need to make this neighborhood, this city, and this country their home.

Virtual Citizenship Class

6-8 p.m.

A free six-week class series for those studying for their citizenship exam and interview that will focus on a review of potential questions, tutoring support, and mock interviews.

Volunteers will be available to help Lawful Permanent Residents who are eligible in completing N-400 applications for naturalization in a supportive environment.

English Language events offer community members the opportunity to learn how to read, write, and comprehend English, and engage resource providers in expanding language accessibility.

Spring Pathway to Literacy Class

A recurring, 15-week free series of English Language Learning classes designed for adults with education less than a high school diploma. To enroll, refer a learner at the link below.

Classes are held in partnership with Indianapolis Public Library and Hawthorne Community Center.
